Jujitsu
- intermediate techniques of the gentle art, by George
Kirby
|
|
his
is the second of several books written by
the leader of AJA in USA, George Kirby:
"Intermediate Techniques of Jujitsu
- the Gentle Art".
|
As
for principles and background information
this book goes one step further than it's
predecessor: "Jujitsu
- basic techniques of the gentle art".
It covers principles of self-defense, advanced
fight theory, defenses against multiple
assailants, and so on.
|
What
I felt to be true about: "Jujitsu
- basic techniques of the gentle art"
could also be said about this volume. To
me it seems as though the author's main
objective has been to show (as in show off)
a large number of various techniques. The
guy is also constantly looking into the
camera, as in saying: "Look folks,
how much stuff I know!". Impressive?
Not really.
|
It
is also not obvious (to me, that is) what
makes the techniques here intermediate,
as opposed to the basic ones in the first
book. It may be that some of the techniques
here are somewhat harder, but hey,
what do I know!
|
I
can personally only recommend this
book to you if you are a die-hard "collector"
of techniques, and as such need to
have everything and anything that possibly
has been written about the subject. If you
need a complete library, then these two
books of course should be in it.
