SAS Security Handbook, by Andrew Kain

"SAS Security Handbook" by Andrew Kain

In it's truest sense this is not a book, but rather a large binder. The pages in the binder is clearly divided and gouped by color-codes and separators - making it a breeze to read and use. It's the first time I've seen this approach in a commercial product like this. Very logical, handy and user-friendly!

Andrew Kain has 11 years of active service behind him in the British SAS (Special Air Service). This is a special combat unit in the army - similar to units in the American, German and French forces, as well as other countries of course. Many of these units are dealing with special operations behind enemy lines, anti-terrorist activity, body-guard assignments and so on. The British were amongst the first (if not the first) to educate soldiers for this purpose, and they have a high standard and good reputations for these kinds of military operations.  When Kain left the army he started his own security company - AKE - in 1991.

Based on combat tested and proven strategies for security and survival, the book shows you various threats that you can encounter as a sivilian. This may be at home, on the streets, in your car, while travelling abroad, on business trips, in hostile areas etc. You are given ways to analyze the various risks, how to prevent things from happening (prevention), avoidance strategies, as well as various reactive strategies.

Even if this book is written by former army professionals it is aimed at sivilians, and has a tone and content suitable to the purpose. It has a long line of highly practical, logical and usefull suggestions and recommandations on how to avoid being a victim. I have no second thoughts what so ever to recommend it to you, and you may just as well start your seach here at Abebooks.
